Stuck with vehicle

I bought a Nissan NP300 in 2017 and was very happy with the vehicle as it served my needs at the time. I am now in a position where I need a safer vehicle as baby number 2 is on the way and my car will now be used more. I wanted the Nivara, but it was out of my price range. I went to another popular brand and I was given a deal I could not refuse that addressed my safety concerns. They tried to get me the settlement value for my NP300, but they could not. Not even from a Nissan dealer. The second hand market has apparently become flooded with them since the discovery of their safety shortfalls by the media, which was also not shared with me at the time of purchase. I am now stuck with this car and cannot sell it to get a safer vehicle. Truly bad form from Nissan's part in my opinion.
