Shocking service from Nissan SA Customer Care
When the COVID restrictions reduced to level 3 at the beginning of June, I booked my vehicle in for a service at my local dealer. By then the vehicle was well over the service interval mileage and therefore a broken window winder could not be repaired under warranty (vehicle ±18 months old) since I should have been aware that their service department was open for servicing essential service providers' vehicles throughout the lockdown. I objected to this approach as the media had been full of information that warranties would not be voided because of lockdown. I asked for the email address of Nissan's Warranty division. 3 weeks later I was given a toll free number where I registered my complaint. I was immediately given a case number and was told my case would be "attended to as a priority". 5 weeks later, after hearing nothing, I emailed again asking for an update. Another two weeks has now passed - nothing, no response, no communication, no acknowledgement of a delay, not even an attempt to excuse this lack of service on short staffing or COVID. Guys, if this is your attitude, and if you are going to tell me that because my engine was not serviced in time, all the other warranties including paint warranties are now null and void, you can expect some harsh retribution.
