Shocking customer care from Nissan and Nissan Melrose Arch
If I could could give less than 1 star I would. The treatment that I received from Nissan South Africa is simply appalling. I own a 2015 Infiniti QX70S. In December last year I renewed my maintenance plan through the Melrose Arch Dealership where I had purchased and serviced the vehicle. In September this year my engine block light came on without warning, and I drove a few blocks to the dealer to drop off the car. I was then told that a component had failed, and that the engine had blown and would need to be replaced. This was on a vehicle with under 110,000km that had been religiously maintained. I was told that the maintenance plan would cover this. I requested a courtesy car from the dealer, and was told that they could only arrange one for me once the repair was approved and the new engine ordered. A month later I was told that the insurer had requested Nissan SA to make a contribution to the engine cost. They took 6 weeks to respond. Finally, I was told that the insurer had approved the repair, and that the engine had been ordered. I then went to the dealer to get a courtesy car, only to be told that they did not have one, and that I should request one from Nissan. I managed eventually to get someone at Nissan to return my call, only to be told that they would not provide me with one, as they had made a contribution to the engine cost. I told them that this helped the insurer but not me. Despite escalating this request to the management at Nissan, as well as to the Dealer Principal at Melrose Arch, I was told that I would not be given a courtesy vehicle. I was then told that the engine would arrive on the 5th November, already two months after the event. The 5th came and went, and I had to call on the 10th to the Dealer only to be told the engine had not yet arrived. I called Nissan, and was told that the new ETA was the 20th. I even received a text from Nissan (the first they had bothered to send me) informing me of this eta. On the 25th I called the dealer to find out when I could collect the vehicle, only to be told that they had received it, and that I should call Nissan. I did so, and was told that the new ETA was the 28th. I called on the 28th, and was told that it not as yet arrived. I called again today, the 29th, and was told that I had arrived late yesterday. Now I must wait, probably another week to get the engine fitted. So all in all, I would have been without a vehicle for three months. Even now, there is no offer of of a courtesy vehicle. Shame on you, Nissan.
