I am writing this complaint to help other people to not make the costly mistake that I did .I bought my dream car from Nissan which in a year has become an absolute nightmare. I bought the Nissan Magnite after doing what I thought was my homework on the car . Now word has it that the car was built as a Datsun and the powers that be decided to brand it as a Nissan as it has such a classy and contemporary look. OMG!! The car is nothing more than an inferior Datsun with cheap interior and engine and beautiful exterior. I traded in my reliable beautiful Mazda for this!! BIG MISTAKE.

After I bought the car, I noticed that the fuel consumption was really not good - I took it in for my first service whereupon the mechanics found about 6 or 7 errors when running the diagnostics. (On a new car with 8,000kms on the clock?) Anyway I was told all should be better . REALLY?? not much. Now, two months after my service, the brakes have started making the most terrible noise - sometimes A loud squeaking and often a terrible metal on metal grinding noise. I took the car back to Nissan to check the brakes as it had just been serviced.

I HAVE BEEN ADVISED THAT THERE IS NOTHING THAT CAN BE DONE ABOUT THE BRAKES AS THERE IS A FACTORY FLAW/FAULT AND ALL THAT CAN BE DONE IS TO PUT SOME COMPOUND ON THE BRAKES TO ALLEVIATE THE NOISE. IT DID NOT HELP. AM I SAFE IN THE MAGNITE WITH FAULTY BRAKES???? I AM TERRIFIED TO DRIVE AND TAKE PEOPLE IN MY CAR AS IT IS NOT SAFE AND THE MANUFACTUER CANT AND WONT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT - SORRY JUST PUT UP WITH THE TERRIBLE NOISE IS THE MESSAGE. FOREVER.

NISSAN, THIS CAR COST ME R300 000 OF MY HARD EARNED CASH . I NOW AM FORCED TO BUY ANOTHER CAR AND I HAVE LOST TENS OF THOUSANDS ON THE VALUE ON THIS WRECK OF A CAR. IT HAS COME TO MY ATTENTION THAT THERE ARE A FEW MORE SERIOUS FACTORY FAULTS IN THIS INFERIOR CAR THAT NISSAN ARE BRUSHING UNDER THE CARPET.

Nissan never divulged these faults although one must assume that as the manufacturers they ARE fully aware of them.

NISSAN SAY THAT THEY ARE SELLING LOTS OF MAGNITES AND....... THIS IS MY PROBLEM. HOW CAN YOU IN GOOD FAITH SELL THIS CAR AT R320 000 TO AN UNSUSPECTING PUBLIC KNOWING ITS INFERIOR QUALITIES AND BEING FULLY CONGNISANT OF THE INTRINSIC FACTORY FLAWS??? THIS PROBLEM WILL NOT GO AWAY BY JUST SHUTTING YOUR EYES AND PRETNDING IT DOESNT EXIST WHEN YOU KNOW IT DOES. SOMEONE NEEDS TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE.

PLEASE, I AM BEGGING ANYONE WHO IS CONSIDERING PURCHASING THIS CAR TO REALLY DO YOUR HOMEWORK AND DO NOT BUY THIS CAR THAT LOOKS SO GOOD ON THE OUTIDE AND IS ROTTEN ON THE INSIDE. YOU WILL BE SORRY AND YOU WILL LOSE MONEY.

NISSAN YOU ARE THE MOST DISAPPOINTING CAR MANUFACTURER I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH.

SHAME ON YOU NISSAN!!!!!!!!
