Poor customer relations

I own a Nissan Qashqai which I bought from the Nissan dealership in Pietermaritzburg in 2014. The vehicle is due to get its next service at 60000 kms. Yesterday, 23 January, I heard a strange noise coming from the engine of the car which turned out to be a faulty fan in the air conditioning unit. I took the car to the dealership this morning at 7am. I told them that I was due to go to the Drakensberg on Friday morning which they accepted. I was given a lift home. I was contacted at about 3pm and was told that my car was out of warranty and that I would have to pay for the fan out of my own pocket. It would cost in the region of R20000. I told them that on the day of the purchase I was told by the dealer that the warranty was for 5 years or 100000kms and it was on that basis that I bought the car. They said they would investigate the matter. In the meantime I contacted the Nissan head office. I gave them by details and, after having given them the VIN number of the car, they assured me that the warranty was in fact for 6 years or 150000 kms. In other words, I was well within the warranty period. I notified the dealership in Pietermaritzburg but no comment was forthcoming. I was also told that they had not yet ordered the part and that I might get the car on Friday which is the day that I am due to travel to the Berg. I will now lose the money which I paid for first night at the Berg and I will have to pay my housesitter for Friday night, notwithstanding that she will not be looking after the house on that night. The staff at the dealership are totally insensitive to my plight. Since I experienced a similar problem about two years ago when they took over two days to replace a bettery, I have now lost all faith in this particular dealership and would discourage any person from approaching them to buy a car. I would try a dealerhip in Durban. I have never experienced such poor customer relations with any other organisation.
