PATHETIC. DISAPPOINTING. SAD. I'm miserable
Honestly, if I could zero stars, I would.
I'm incredible disappointed. I bought a brand new Nissan Magnite in October of 2021 thinking it would be a safe car as a single mom traveling 250km for work on a daily basis. To say this was the biggest mistake of my life would be an understatement.
Before my car even went for the first service, the following problems reared their heads: - Breaks were screeching terribly - The Apple Carplay kept disconnecting - The driver's door would automatically lock out of nowhere (it's not supposed to) - Car door handles started getting rusted. - Driver's window sometimes wouldn't open - There was a rattle in the bonnet that was impossible to ignore or even talk over.
It went for the first service, I made them fully aware of all of the problems, they fixed absolutely nothing. The car went back three times after the first service, still with nothing fixed and me driving around in my dud of a "new" car.
Then, one my way home one day, the car just decided it didn't want to drive anymore. They had to come and collect it, turns out there was a wire that was too short, which wasn't making contact any more, which they didn't replace, they only extended the existing one. Hooray for safety.
Still, I continued on with my embarrassing screeching brakes, rattling dashboard, ****ky self-lock mechanism, radio that only worked when it felt like it and my window which spontaneously decided that it didn't feel like opening up. Oh, and of course the rusted door handles.
I decided to take it to a different dealer and see what I could manage. Since then the following has happened: - They replaced my door handles, leading to the passenger door not allowing keyless entry anymore. I took it back, they fixed it. - They informed me that Nissan won't be replacing my screeching brakes as it wasn't a safety hazard. Feeling speechless? I get it! - They also told me they'd be happy to strip my bonnet in order to see what's causing the rattle, I just needed to pay R6800 and if the problem turned out te be something not covered by my warranty, I would be responsible for all repair costs. So I'm still driving around in a car that sounds like there are 500 bearings loose in the bonnet when it moves, yay. - Since then the paint on my badge has gone off, I'm now driving a ISN. - Also the automatic open and close function on my driver's window stopped working. - My car went in for the second service today, still covered by the service and warranty plan. - To my surprise I got a call from them telling me that my breaks need to be replaced and yup, you guessed it, my service and warranty plans don't cover it so I need to pay R2800 for new breaks on my 17 month old car that's supposedly on a service plan.
I'm so disappointed and it's not like this is a cheap car. I emailed head office as well, no reply. I tried not to make noise. I'm over here. miserable, disappointed, sad, out R310K and Nissan is simply pulling up their shoulders.
