NTT Nissan Secunda- Nissan Magnite CVT control arm and shock issue since day one
I bought a Nissan Magnite CVT in 2023 from NTT Nissan Secunda. At 50km I phoned the sales manager to complain about a knocking noise at the front left and was told they would check it the next time I bring the vehicle in (what is the point of the 101 checklist? How did the vehicle pass?). After 500km on the clock, the window motor packed up and the electric window on the driver side would not go up/down.
I reported it to the sales manager whom told me it would take a couple of weeks for the part. It was only replaced 500km later after complaining with Nissan South Africa. During this replacement, I raised the concern of a knocking noise on the front left wheel again. I was told there is nothing wrong.
My first service at 10000km I reported it again and was told there is nothing wrong. Second service at 20000km, same. On Friday 23 May 2025, I took my vehicle for its third service at 30000km and raised the same issue of the knocking sound on the front. This time I was given a quotation for R10 000 to replace the control arms, shocks and coil springs.
I told the service manager that this issue was there from day one and was reported numerous times previously. As I stood at the service counter, they checked the previous 3 job cards after my insistance and the service personnel as well as the service manager acknowledged that it was logged each time(yet the vehicle was released to me with NTT Nissan Secunda stating there is nothin wrong). The service manager asked me if I drive gravel roads frequently(trying to come with an excuse) which I don't. He then said they would try to claim through the factory. Not satisfactory!! No apology or acknowledgement they missed it the previous 3 times it was reported.
I asked for the job cards to be emailed to me for the previous 3 services, however they only emailed me the quotation.
Nissan South Africa, you need to visit this branch and see what is happening there. A customer buys a vehicle for peace of mind and I can truly say that I have not had this since day one.
If this car is not fixed or replaced, my next steps will have to be to escalate it with MFC.
