No parts - Part not available
I have been working with BB Nissan Sinoville (Pretoria North), however and as I have been informed, Nissan South Africa is failing to secure parts for my vehicle. I struck a massive pothole (sponsored by our wonderful government), which resulted in parts relevant to the suspension and shocks being damaged.
The vehicle in question is a Nissan Qashqai Midnight Edition, and is not a small price to pay. Despite this fact, Nissan South Africa does not seem to have parts on these specific items. I ordered the parts on the 8th of March 2022, yet, am now informed it would take until 14 May 2022 to obtain.
With specificity to Nissan Sinoville, I requested that a loan vehicle be provided. They said they cannot as COVID still has an effect (not for more than a year now), and the war in Ukraine (regarding parts in China, apparently).
I asked them to provide me with an initiative from their end that would solve my particular problem. I have been using a rental vehicle and had been doing so since then, but I do deem it now to be more their problem than mind. An ideology they do not seem to agree with.
As a result, my complaint is this. If you ever convince yourself to buy a Nissan because of availability of parts (as opposed to Citroen or Peugeot who sometimes do struggle with parts), do not be convinced. In fact, now I'm somewhat regretful that I did not consider those vehicles as options because, in actual fact, it is a level playing field. Nissan SA do not have parts and also do not seem to assist high paying customers when they do not have such parts available when they should.
Do not get fooled into thinking Nissan has parts. They don't.
Yours Sincerely,
Daniel Berry
