Nissan X trail has problems that Nissan are hiding

I have purchased two X trails 2.5 SE CVT 4x4.First one was purchased Oct 2015 second purchased April 2017.

I experienced the same Problems on both X trails i.e Bonnet vibrates loose (Had to be replaced twice on both vehicles) and brakes are problematic with intermittent noise which becomes more pronounced over time.

Nissan eventually replaced complete braking system on my first X trail i.e. brake pads , brake disc and all associated equipment. (But this was only after continuous complaints and after the vehicle was in the possession of Nissan for more tha 50 days on different occasions to try identify the fault).

I eventually sold the first X trail at a loss and purchased another demo X trail at a discounted price( Nissan assisted me in getting a good deal) only to experience the same faults on the second X trail purchased as I had on my first X trail i.e Bonnet came lose ( a new complete bonnet had to be installed which took about a week as they needed to install new bonnet then send it for re spray . The second X trail started with same intermittent problems on the brakes). Today less than two months after the new bonnet was installed, the bonnet is again vibrating and loose.

Since April 2017 and with less than 15000km the second X trail has been in at the dealers for more than 4 weeks to rectify the bonnet and inspect/ figure out what is faulty with the braking system.

Nissan S.A clearly has a problem with the new X trails bonnets and braking system that they are keeping hush about.

I strongly recommend all X trail drivers to monitor the bonnet problem( vibrating and coming loose) and to monitor the noise coming from the braking system as it gets worse/more pronounced over time.

I have on many occasions requested to speak to the MD of Nissan SA but my request have been ignored.

I am now trying to sell this vehicle and can not get a decent price. Market value is R360k and Nissan SA are offering me R280k.

Think twice before you consider purchasing a NISSAN.
