Nissan Warranty

The salient points of my complaint are as follows: • In March 2022 I purchase a brand new NISSAN NP 200 UB 4 - 2022 NISSAN NP200 1.6 SE P/U S/C (ND853885) from CMH Nissan Durban; • During the course of August / September 2023 I noticed rust forming on the roll bar fitted on the vehicle – It must be noted that this is not an aftermarket accessory and is the roll bar supp**** by Nissan; • I immediately contacted the salesperson who has subsequently moved to another dealership and advised that the vehicle be taken in for an inspection • On 26th September 2023, vehicle was taken in and after some confusion as to whether the accessory was covered, I was informed that a warranty claim would be submitted; • I contacted the dealer principal who attempted to assist – and kept me updated on the feedback • Concern is that I have been advised that the part is no longer available and therefore a warranty claim cannot be submitted. It must be noted that the warranty period on this vehicle is 6 years / 150000 km. • I am seeking clarity on the warranty on the rollbar – as I have been given 2 conflicting versions by the service department at Nissan Durban: 1. Roll bar accessory is not covered for the full duration of the warranty –concerning as this is a Nissan factory fitted accessory – if this is the case please can I be provided with a copy of the warranty document stating this. 2. I was then informed that due to Nissan not producing NP200 bakkies, the part number is not on the system and therefore a claim cannot be submitted. I must state that Nissan Durban have offered as a gesture of goodwill to have the roll bar repaired, as much as I am grateful for this gesture, I in no way want to give away my rights in terms of the remaining term of this warranty.

As a simple person listed below is what is not covered in my warranty:

WHAT IS NOT COVERED 1. Tyres are covered by a separate warranty. See the Warranty conditional items for details. 2. Any accessories or equipment installed by a person other than an authorised NISSAN dealer. 3. Any parts and labour costs incurred in connection with the required or recommended maintenance service as outlined in your OWNER'S MANUAL and the MAINTENANCE SECTION in this booklet. 4. Normal maintenance service such as engine tune-up, cleaning and polishing, wheel balancing and alignment, headlight aiming, replacement of filters, windshield wiper inserts, key fob batteries, light bulbs, spark plugs, distributor points, drive belts, lubricants and cooling, worn brake shoes, pads, drums and rotors and worn clutch discs.
