Nissan SA and BB Nissan Sinoville
I bought the NEW NAVARA on 23 Feb 2022 I took the vehicle in for its first service at BB Nissan Sinoville on21st February 2023 and 7500 km on the clock. I requested that the do the service and look at 2 items: 1) Cover plate on engine (Plastic) broken loose in the front while travelling on the N1 towards Polokwane 2) Humm noise in the diff The Service consultant informed me late afternoon that the manager took te vehicle for a drive and identified the humm. They then contacted someone at the factory and that person took the vehicle for a drive and confirmed the same. That is when the problem started I was informed on the Wednesday that BB Nissan was awaiting feedback from the factory regarding the next steps. On Thursday afternoon I contacted Customer Care at Nissan SA and received the following on Friday morning. Case Details: • Case Number: ***9 • Assisting Dealer: BB Sinoville Nissan • Date Logged: 2023/02/24 • Consultant: Theresa Gouws The diff was removed after numerous calls and half truths on the Friday end send to Mayfair to evaluate. Mayfair confirmed on Monday 27th February that the humm was due to a part failure in the diff. BB Nissan then ordered the parts on Tuesday 28th February and received a message that the one bearing is on back order without an ETA I complained about the fact that Nissan SA is not making an effort to resolve the issue sooner. On Wednesday 2nd of March I received a call from Theresa offering my a hire vehicle but the basis is effectively that I rent a car and Nissan SA just pays the daily fee though I take all the risk. The offer was for a NP200. I informed Theresa and the BB Nissan SA Service Manager Karina that I will not accept the offer based on the contract conditions and the fact that the offer is on an NP2oo which I owned for a short while and is ****. My View is as follow: 1) Nissan SA is not making a real effort to resolve the issue 2) I expected Nissan SA based on the circumstances to replace the diff with a new unit while investigating to be 100% sure of the reason of the part failure which could be related amongst other things to bad material used, alignment in the diff, etc. I have been driving a Nissan and a BMW for the last 40 years and that is exactly what BMW would have done 3) Feedback is basically non existent. 4) I complained about the service department at BB Nissan to the Dealer Principle 5) There is no timeline to when it would be fixed 6) Normally a manufacturer will provide a loan car similar or to a higher specification to protect the brand and keep the customer satisfied during the inconvenience caused by a manufacturing problem This will be my last Nissan vehicle based on the experience and I will convey the message to all my friends looking to buy from Nissan The letter contains the communication with Nissan SA and no detail on the discussions with BB Nissan Sinoville which is an issue on its own.
