Nissan NP200 Breakdown Due to Dealership Negligence – No Help from Nissan SA

Title: Nissan NP200 Breakdown Due to Dealership Negligence – No Help from Nissan SA

Review:

I own a 2021 Nissan NP200 1.5dCi, which was serviced at Nissan 4 Wheels Lichtenburg at 75,000km. Just 5,000km later, at 80,000km, the bakkie suddenly would not start.

Nissan Lichtenburg suspected the diesel pump but could not confirm. I went to Nissan Bloemfontein for a second opinion. They identified the issue: a pipe was incorrectly installed during the previous service – bent in a way that restricted fuel flow. Over time, it perished due to pressure and friction.

This is pure negligence by Lichtenburg Nissan. A case was opened with Nissan South Africa (yesterday morning at 08:00) – but to date, there has been zero feedback or assistance.

This is my only transport, and I’ve now been without it for 2 days, risking job loss and financial damage.

I demand:

Immediate free repair

An official apology from Nissan SA

Accountability for dealership error

Shocking service from a supposed premium brand.

Reviewer Update
Dear Nissan South Africa,
I appreciate your response, but I must express my deep concern regarding the handling of my vehicle by 4Wheels Lichtenburg.
4Wheels Nissan Lichtenburg has serviced my vehicle consistently from 45,000 km up to 75,000 km. It is therefore unreasonable to suggest that they have not handled or replaced the diesel filter during this period. Based on the current issues experienced with the vehicle, it is evident that negligence occurred during one of these services, which has now resulted in a costly failure for which I am expected to carry the burden.
I am not at fault for this situation, and I should not be liable for the consequences of poor workmanship or oversight on their part. I am therefore formally requesting that Nissan South Africa support my claim against 4Wheels Lichtenburg and assist in holding them accountable for the damages caused.
I trust that Nissan will stand by its customers and take the necessary steps to ensure a fair resolution.
Kind regards,
