Nissan Magnite, First New Car

Good Day

I am sharing my very frustrating experience with a brand new Nissan Maginite CVT purchased from Nissan South Africa in 2022 and their appalling customer service.

I purchased the vehicle in April 2022. Almost immediately, issues with the brakes surfaced.

The brakes began to make a grinding sound each time I braked. Each time this occurred, I took the car back to the dealership. The car has been back to the dealership multiple times since then.

I have been busy with Nissan now for 1 year as at the 4th March, my car has been with the dealership for more than 1 month now already.

The issues experienced has been

• Brakes on this car is horrible • Left front side shock calliper worn (they found after car has been in multiple times as I complained of a sound coming from the car) • Moving from Park, Neutral, Drive or Low range not smooth at all (still an issue not believed) • The navigation and operating screen and android auto has completely stopped working, it does not switch on. • This too occurred before when it would disconnect continuously • Back left rim bent (said it is me, but car came like this) • Car not having power on uphill when putting foot down even making clapping sound – still issue not believed.

You are not believed when issues are reported and ignored all the time as you literally have to beg for feedback

From Branch Managers, to sales people, to service people, to contact centres, to customer service, to all and by all that has anything to do with this car, and no one gives you straight answers or says anything about the situation, or what will be the course of action or what will be done. Except Annarie but also stopped now, and Pheladi also contacted back but now not anymore, it is almost like there no answers anymore.

The customer service is just horrible, as you will be told someone will get back to you, but no one does, or you will be informed today and days go by with no one getting back to you, no one seems to know what to say do or answer.

A new car should not have all these issues and should be a free frustrating situation.

Kilometres increase as months go by and because I am in hospitality, can't just take car in all the time as I work long hours.

You are **** to all the time of progress etc. on car and the service from Nissan South Africa has been horrific

If I knew it was going to be like this, I would have never bought a Nissan Magnite CVT.

I am now sitting without my car for over a month. While they have given me a rental (Nissan Almera), it in no way makes up for the inconvenience and the fact I'm still paying for a car no longer in my possession.

No one in Nissan South Africa can make any decision on what to do and if they are going to give me a new car or take this car off my name, if it was up to me I would say take the car back and take off my name and clear what I bought it for and owe the bank as I do not trust Nissan anymore with this experience that I have been going through in the last year.

The problem that I am also worried about is what happens when this car starts giving me issue when the warranty and service plans end, then I sit with these issues and must fork out thousands of rands.

Nissan, surely this car must be taken back as it has been 1 year of unresolved issues?

I have asked multiple times, on multiple occasions for someone senior from Nissan Head Office Management to contact me , but never ever has anyone from Management contacted me, almost like they are scared or can't talk, they cannot make any decisions. Surely, they have insurance for these kinds of situations.

I have been to the ombudsman and he suggested that the car does not warrant an exchange but must be fixed, but to date, still sitting with the same issue, Nissan has not fixed the problem.

The amount of phone calls, emails up and down to the dealership and back and forth is just extremely frustrating.

I don't understand how I'm expected to pay for something monthly that doesn't function, neither am I getting what I paid for. I'm also expected to pay for a car that has been with the dealer for over a month.

To date, no further communication has been received except to say they're still busy with the car and still struggling with the software.

Regards Eugene

Good day Nissan South Africa
Thank you for the assistance, and to Pheladi for all the help
The only thing i would say is that the head office of Nissan South Africa must communicate with client and dealer more so everyone is on the same page.
One of the things for me is that it took very long before management from Nissan South Africa made contact with me and then it was also only a few times , and then nothing again, almost like they scared of their customers
Hopefully this time around with the car I will get lots of kilometers
