Nissan Juke 2012 - Timing Chain - Poor Service

I ordered a timing chain kit from Star Nissan in Vredenburg on the 7th January 2020, and only received it on the 14th February 2020. Pathetic, to say the least.

When I phoned them initially, they required the VIN Number, which I gave and then I asked them to order the kit. No, I have to come and pay first, which I did.

Then I was promised a two day delivery. I then suggested that I will come and fetch it on the third working day. On the fourth day I heard nothing and decided to phone them. This is where the excuses started. They dont have stock and will put it on back order.

A week later I had to phone again, demanded to speak the the manager and was promised again that they will put on a "special order", NO JOY.

I then again demanded that I speak to the manager of the business and was put through to the dealer principle/ principle dealer. He was also full of excuses and tried hard to explain the stock issue. Apparently they had to order one of the six parts from Mexico.

What I cannot understand is the fact that they must have a general stock system/ process and they must use it to order and to ensure that there are always enough parts available for customers. Also, why ask the VIN number, check the system and confirm that they have the parts available.

A customer/ Nissan owner cannot wait five weeks for a simple part *(tensioner). This means that the car is immobile for the duration of the five weeks.

I want to complain about the following: 1. Poor service from Star Nissan Vredenburg, no continuous feedback, even when the part was at their premises, I had to drive 40 kilometres to their business premises to collect the part. 2. The Stock Control Process from Nissan South Africa I drive a Nissan Juke *(Turbo) and the timing chain packed up and i was corresponding with Nissan South Africa late last year, the car only has 133 000 kms on the speedometer and it looks like a problem with the 2012/13 models. I got no joy from them, just a sorry, the car is out of guarantee. They also asked an amount of R35 000 plus to replace it.

I enjoy the car and always had a high regard for Nissan and their service, but this was the worst experience, ever.
