Nissan fits unsafe Brakes on new vehicles

Good day

I have an issue with my brakes.I have informed Nissan Pinetown about the problem several times. When I first bought the car,the brakes had a grinding noise, so last year ,they change the brake pads on the vehicle. After a month, I noticed a whistling noise coming from the brakes. This happens when I brake at slow speeds.I informed Nissan Pinetown about this issue numerous times, when the vehicle was at their workshop. They continue to tell me ,theres nothing wrong with the brakes, but the noise persisted.Last Month Nissan South Africa told me take it to their Pinetown for inspection. After the inspection, the mechanic put copper slip behind the brake pads and told me it's sorted out. After a couple kms the noise has started again.kindly assist me in resolving this matter as Nissan South Africa refuse to my emails.

It's easy for you to say that, cause it's not your family and yourself traveling in this vehicle. The vehicle was not given to me for free nor did I pay cheap for the vehicle,so I don't expect brakes to whistle everywhere I go and people to look at me like I'm driving a broken down vehicle ,also I do not want to put my family at risk. From my knowledge brakes should not make whistling noise or any other noises.

Please advise why is Nissan telling me bring the vehicle in to measure the brakes,as it was measured last month, obviously the brakes is not going to be the same as when I complained about it.It not easy to bring in my vehicle every month to measure the brakes.Nisaan is doing this so they can blame it on wear and tear which is not professional, as I complained about this a long time ago, when the brakes were still new.

Dear Keegan, the appointment request is not only to measure the brakes but to do an inspection on the complete brake system of the vehicle. Please note that the complete history will be taken into consideration when a recommendation is made on the way forward. Kind Regards Nissan S.A

Thank you for your quick response. I don't have a problem with Nissan, as they have fixed, all the stuff on the vehicle that I previously had problems with, but this brake issue is going on for sometime. The braking system on a vehicle is important, as my two little kids and my wife also travels with me in this vehicle and I want it to be safe for them.

Please think twice before purchasing a Nisaan vehicle, as they sell vehicles with faulty brakes. It can cost you, your life.Nissan doesn't care about lives, they care more about money.

Latest update on my vehicle.the braking issue is still not sorted out.the nissan dealership and Nissan SA are continously trying to convince me a noisy brakes that does not hold when traveling down a steep decline is normal.im driving for over 15 years now and have never drove a car with such bad brakes.Nissan staff at the dealership want to fight with me when I point out the brakes are faulty.Nissan is hoping,if they ignore the problem, the problem will go away.Nissan is the worst brand of car I have ever drove.please think about your family lives and your own life before you buying a Nissan,as Nissan wants to kill my family and me with faulty brakes.

It's going to be almost two years now and still I continue to have issues with my brakes. Nissan has gone from a household name to an unsafe and unreliable brand.Kindly think about your familys safety before purchasing a Nissan.Nisaan cuts corners with their braking system, they use cheap material to make their brake pads and the brakes can fail at anytime.I have asked Nissan on a numerous occasions, to send me in writing that the brakes on my vehicle is safe but they refuse to reply.Staff are trained how to convince customers ,that squeezing brakes on the vehicles are normal.I will never ever purchase a Nissan again.Worse brand of vehicle I have ever driven.

This is getting out of control.Once again, I was advised by Nissan Sa, to take my vehicle to Nissan Toti dealership to check my brakes.Which I did.when I picked up my vehicle ,my back passenger tyre was missing a lug nut.I told the dealership about it,they telling me it was missing when I dropped it off.I know for sure I had all the lug nuts on my tyre's,when I dropped the vehicle off.If it was missing ,why was it not pointed out to me when the check was done on the drop off? Nissan SA is continuously sending me to the dealership to check my brakes for nothing and now the dealerships are *****ing parts from my car. This matter is already with the ombudsman.if I do not receive a replacement lug nut today ,I am going to inform the ombudsman about the *****ing of the part.

Nissan think this is a game. It's been over a month now, still no reponse from Nissan.overall it's been two year and still I have unsafe brakes on my Nissan magnite.Nissan does not want to admit there is a brake issue, as they do not want to do a recall on the all the Nissan magnite ,which will cost them millions.they rather have they customers drive unsafe vehicles.

Please be aware that there are *********** technicians that work at Nissan Pinetown workshop and Nissan Amanzimtoti workshop, who advise customers that it's normal for brakes to have a whistling noise when engaged and for brakes to not hold, when the vehicle is driven down steep declines, without documents proving that,as I have asked them to forward me the test reports on a numerous occasions and never ever received. I owned alot of brand new vehicles in my life and I never ever heard the brakes whistling ,nor did I have problems with the brakes not holding when going down steep declines, until I bought a Nissan Magnite.Nissan doesn't care about the safety of the customers families and the customers life.its all about making money.that is why all the Chinese vehicles are taking over.

I'm not sure ,whatelse Nissan wants from me. I took my vehicle to the dealership over 10 times to check and measure the brakes and still they call me and tell me to take My vehicle to the dealership to measure my brakes again. It's like they are trying to absolve themselves from the responsibility even when we all know that the car brakes are unsafe. That is why Nissan is falling apart, as the dont want to undo their wrong,by installing safe brakes onto my car. Nissan vehicles involved in accidents ,should be investigated by authorities, especially the braking systems.

Not every customer is treated the same at Nissan. If you purchase a top of the range vehicle, like a Nissan Navara or quashqai, then Nissan is willing to sort out the faults on the vehicle, because I bought a Nissan Magnite ,they are refusing to sort out brakes and they dont care if my family die while driving the vehicle. NIissan only care about customers, who purchases top of the range vehicle from them.

This will be handed over to the national consumer commission, as its gone too far.other vehicles are being recalled for minor stuff, how is it that the nissan magnite is not being recalled for its faulty brakes.

Nissan is the worst car brand in South Africa. The ombudsman does them nothing. The ombudsman promotes car brands like Nissan, who install faulty brakes onto their vehicles.Nissan is gone from bad to worse.

Nissan is a disgrace. MIOSA is paid to keep quiet about the brake issue with the Nissan vehicles.
