Nissan does not care or communicate.
Recently I had an unfortunate incident while driving a long-distance trip with my Nissan Qashqai. One of the water pipes cracked (attachment to the air cooler) and all the water leaked out of the engine. Unfortunately, and due to what I can only describe as an awful design flaw on the Nissan vehicles, there is no sensor to indicate if the water level is low and when there is no water in the car there is no mechanism for the car to indicate that the temperature is too high so the first time I got any inkling that anything was wrong was once my car engine had already seized. How is it possible that in this day and age that a manufacturer can create a situation where a car owner carries such a significant risk of a major cost incident which could have been avoided through simple sensors in the car. In light of this, I approached the Nissan car dealership in Milnerton which was only interested in selling me a new engine and did not want to even hear my story. "Speak to Nissan SA" was the response. So, I emailed Nissan SA and got a simple reply that they are not willing to talk to me until after the COVID crises. Why not at least give me a courtesy call or provide more detail regarding a possible process. Its been 7-weeks now and not a word. All I want is to speak to somebody to determine if there are any options available to me other than Nissan making a buck out of me due to their bad design. It feels as if I am being treated as a source for them to hit their monthly budgets rather than a customer who they are willing to at least talk to in order to resolve and issue. It's sad that they cannot even pick up their phone in this time when actually there is probably more time to communicate with customers. Nissan get's a 1 out of 10 from me for after-sale customer service and a 0 out of 10 for communication.
