Nissan Customer Complaint
purchased a Nissan Qashqai 1.2T Acenta CVT in August 2017 @ 51000km. In Jan 2018 I noticed it was using up oil as i was topic up oil after every 1000 km. In which matter was resolved and New engine replaced by Nissan( Imperial Nissan Durban- South Coast Road)Details attached. 2. Now i have encountered another problem. February 2019 to my car for 150 000 service. After collection of the car with was around 17:05 ( in which was already passed dealership operating hours) when i drove back home which is approx 36 km, I noticed that the Temperature gauge was spiking above half when accelerating above 110km/h. In which I drove at less than 100km/h till i reached home. The next day i went to the nearest petrol station to check water level. In which was too low. ( Also noticed that the used/ changed service parts eg filters were not in the boot as they normally keep them after service). They topped up and i contacted Nissan Service consultant ( Zanele) in which she advised to monitor the car if persistent to call back. In which temp spike continued and i contacted Zanele. I informed her that the service parts were not packed in the car as usual after service. She informed me that the Mechanic who worked on my car was attending a workshop on the day and would be back 2 days later. In which i took the car in and was kept overnight and was checked by Workshop manager ( Andrew) later on that day received a call from Zanele who informed me that they said temp spike was because of water pump housing which i had to pay out of pocket as car is out of warranty(km 150 000) in which i requested proof that this was really the problem. I went to Nissan met with Andrew, after discussion he then re checked and mentioned the temp spike was due to a chemical reaction caused by coolant. So as the car cooled down for 24 hrs problem was solved. But noticed that the crossmember bolt was loose and had to tighten it. ( which was strange to me what would cause that after service) Took the car which was fine when it comes to temp spike. 3. After 2 weeks noticed a flashing engine light as i was driving on an incline( aircon was on) in which i switched it off and drove to Nissan and the Mechanic ( Ashley ) checked and said he diagnosed the car and was no fault, suspected aircon( technician was called in, tested aircon and found no fault). Ashley said i must monitor the car. 3 weeks later engine light came back same story no fault picked up at Nissan. 4. Then was advised by a friend to go do diagnostics privately. Then a P0030 & P0031 fault appeared( photo attached). Took it back to Nissan, was told to buy new spark plugs which was done at Nissan by Ashley and he told me he cleared faults and tested the car all was fine. 5. Drove the car next day engine light plus a control chassis fault appeared. Took it back again, this time was told i needed to pay for new coil packs( in which i requested them to test first instead for me to paying again as i had paid for 4 plugs) was told that they were still going to borrow coil packs from other Dealership. 6. Waited until the 29th of May 2019, car did not start and i noticed a smell of petrol underneath when i checked it was leaking from engine. Phoned Zanele and asked me to arrange tow truck because they don’t provide tow service. Phoned my insurance ( in which i had to pay extra R450 as Imperial is not the nearest dealership). On 30 May was told that the problem is injector seals and need replacement( causing car not to start and leak petrol) order was placed and on 6 June was told seals have arrived and they working on the car. 7. On 10 June i phoned Zanele to follow up ( i use the car as a tool of trade , as i work as a Medical rep) in which she told me that more seals are required as the mechanic did not realize that. Now new seals have been order( waiting again for 2nd week- then was told to pay R4500 for injector seals & gasket, in which i did. 5 days later u was stuck on the road. Now they say it is the injectors, need replacement. Misdiagnoses after misdiagnoses. Car still at Dealership since 21 June. I am really frustrated as this problem and unnecessary unplanned cost ( which now i have to be liable for)could have been prevented
