Good day

I am writing this mail to make you aware of the failing inferior brakes of Nissan Qashqai 2024. I purchased this vehicle brand new in February 2024 from Nissan, and ever since it started making braking noise etc, and the car was still new, December 2024, 2 months before I am due for my first service, I contacted the Nissan dealership and queried the brakes, the radio issue I had and the low coolant. However, I was told I must bring the car when due for service.

I then again brought to the attention of Nissan that I have a problem with the brakes, it is making excessive noise, mind you I didn’t even have the car for 1 year. After back and forth, back and forth, they eventually inspected the brakes months after I complained, July 2025. Then I waited up to now again today September 2025 for an outcome again which they tell me it is my problem.

Here is the story. When I buy a new car, I only expect to do a service at least and not fix things on the car when it is still brand new. The service advisor at Parow Nissan, told me that my brakes is now finished, and this was July 2025, after I complained long before that I have a problem with the brakes. They are quoting me now R8k to replace brakes, where must I get money for that? I have asked if they can replace it seeing that the car is fairly new and that I have complained way before. I asked the service advisor how can this be possible that in 12 months my brakes is finish and my mileage was low and only use the car for work, her response to me were that is a softer material they are using on this brakes of Nissan. This is ridiculous, never ever in my life did I change brakes of my previous brands that I drove, this is the first time, I will never buy Nissan again, seeing that they using inferior material that could be dangerous to my life and family and to top it off, aftermarket service is very bad. I have read up and checked on hello peter, there is numerous of people that is complaining about the brakes , some peoples brakes finished in less then 1 year, some complaining about the noise etc, and I think I am going to do the same, I will never ever buy a Nissan product again, this was my worst buy ever. Have a look of complaints on the brakes of Nissan on Hello Peter.

All I have asked that they maybe replace it, or they could’ve come to an agreement, but none of that, and then they want to become arrogant. I had VW, BMW, Opel, Toyota, Hyundai before I went to Nissan, never ever I had a problem like this, worse decision ever. I am always the one that have to do follow ups with them, they maybe just contacted me like twice, but this has been going on for months now only to tell me, “Go to the dealership, maybe they will help you” , this coming from a customer service representative of Nissan. See attached complaints from consumers complaining about brakes with Nissan vehicles.

This is a very important safety issue, and if they are using inferior material for brakes, it could cost someone’s lives.

A very upset,

MA Gabier
