Nissan Automall, East London
Went to Nissan Automall, East London this afternoon to see a Nissan Micra 2021 for my daughter. Spent some time with the sales consultant (name withheld for privacy now, but can be revealed under legal circumstances). I was with my 2 daughters. Checked the vehicle and wanted to test the infotainment system of this car. The car is worth R360,000 and I am not willing to buy the car without checking if the product satisfies my (or my daughter's) requirements. We tested the sound system by increasing the volume as any dealership with a minimum understanding of the customer requirement would know that "a customer would test the features provided in a product". Nissan automall had chosen to park the car, which is for sale, near a service reception which is manned by (some) employees who seem to be not trained to handle clients. I was asked by the sales personnel to increase the sound to test the sound system. I am a 50 year old person who do not like loud sound in a closed environment. Even though my daughters wanted to test the system at its maximum, I kept reducing the sound but still it was relatively loud. Following this a lady who was attending the client service section of the "Service Department" decided to come and express her dissatisfaction to me. She came and asked me to reduce the sound in a very rude and arrogant way. The sales consultant requested her to deal with him instead of me (as a client). She in her most arrogant manner chose to ignore his request. She started walking to her work station and I followed her. The sales consultant also joined us and tried to calm down the situation by talking to this woman from the client desk. During his conversation his hand touched the woman's hand and she responded in the most arrogant way "Don't touch me". I would like to reaffirm here that he was not touching her purposely, it was just by chance that his hand touched her hand. That proved to me very clearly that the woman was not in any way trained to be employed for the task that was assigned to her. If I was the employee, I would not take a moment to come to a decision to fire her because of her attitude to the client and to the co-worker. If you cannot respect a colleague you are USELESS for the organization and is a poison going forward.
I do not like to bring race issues (as it is misused sometimes) but in this case this woman definitely needs some assistance as I feel that she has some race issues. She needs to be trained on how to respect every human being irrespective of their color. She MOST DEFINITELY needs training in this respect. I hope next time when I am (or my friends) are in this dealership I do not see her in that space. The space will be much better without her.
I am more than willing to come to the dealership to identify the people whom I dealt with (if required) while I was there today.
