MY LAST NISSAN

I am a devoted Nissan Fan…and so are many of my immediate family members. We have owned (& currently own) 1 x Nissan Patrol, 2 x Nissan Navara’s, 1 x Nissan Murano, 1 x Nissan Juke, and 2 x Nissan Tiida’s. We are also looking at an X-Trail as a replacement for my wife’s car when my son turns 18 and takes over her little (much loved) Juke. Needless to say then…we really are (were) Nissan enthusiasts! However, I recently had a really unpleasant experience with my 2018 Nissan Navara D/Cab 2.3 4x4 LE Auto. When I first purchased the Navara, I noticed that the auto box (intermittently) got stuck in Park. It was quite difficult to get it into Reverse and sometimes it would come out of P with a loud “clunk” noise, and I would feel the vibration inside the cab. I reported this to the dealer within the first month of owning the vehicle & the response I got was “there is nothing we can do about it”. Obviously this did not sit well with me & I reported it to the service manager, a friendly gentleman, who told me that it is not something to worry about & that they would have a look at it at the first service of the vehicle. After the first service they could not find anything wrong & reported back to me - “although we can’t fix it, we can assure you that the auto box won’t break” – which still does not solve my problem of the box getting stuck in P and making a horrid noise going into R. Eventually realising that I won’t get much further with the dealer, I decided to contact Nissan SA. After an uphill battle to get anyone there to take my problem seriously, they sent a technical consultant out to test drive the vehicle. His finding was “Yes, it does get stuck (every so often) and it does make a loud “clunk” going from P into R occasionally, but many D23 Navara’s do the same thing & although it detracts from the driving experience, there is nothing we can do about it”. So…having spent R****+ on a new Navara, do you think I should be content with this answer…or is there any other remedy for my problem? Should there be no other avenues for me to pursue, I am afraid that this Navara was this Nissan fans’ last Nissan…
