Moisture in lights apparantly NORMAL!
I have a Nissan Juke, still under factory warrantee. While washing the car, driving in the rain or even parked in the rain, the driver side light get moisture. Lots of pictures available and sent to Nissan SA. They sent me a memo from 2015 stating "certain levels of condensation are acceptable as per the bulletin” Also available. Please see attached photo - apparently normal and someone even suggested I drive with the lights on to assist with evaporation, which I do anyways! So Nissan SA says it’s normal? For only driver side light to get moisture and only after 2 years? Apparently they cannot guarantee that if they replace the light that this will not happen again in 6 months so do they admit there is a flaw with the Juke’s headlight? I suggest stay away from Nissan! I will never buy Nissan again! No after sales service.
Dear Izak75,
Thank you for your comments and Nissan SA is well aware of the concern surrounding your Nissan Vehicle.
Please accept our sincere apologies for the delayed response.
It is important to note that all current exterior lamp assemblies are vented to the atmosphere ( not sealed). The vents are necessary to allow for expansion and contraction of air due to temperature changes ( warmer and cold) without damage to the lamp.
All lamps allow some moisture (water vapour) inside through vents which prevent physical damage due to pressure build up when the lamps are turned on. Certain weather conditions will cause water vapour to become visible on the lens.
It is important to note that the condensation will clear on its own as the environmental conditions change.
The phenomenon affects both the LH and RH lamps depending on which orientation the vehicle is parked at.( this is not due to part defect)
We suggest that you contact your nearest authorised Nissan Dealership ,should the moisture still be there even after following the necessary steps to eliminate the moisture. Once the vehicle is assessed by the dealership, they will then contact the Nissan SA technical department should the need arise for further assistance.
Kind regards,
Natasha Naidoo
