I WAS SOLD A BRAND NEW NISSAN QASHQAI WITH A FAULTY AC AND NOW THEY WANT ME TO PAY FOR IT.

I bought a Nissan qashqai from the Nissan Midrand in January this year. Since i bought the car, the AC has NEVER worked, it oinly blows hot air. i reported this issue from my then sales person after having the car for a week and i was told to give it some time maybe im the one who just isnt setting it right (OOH?). Since then, numerous calls were made by the dealer as part of their after sales service and EACH time i kept mentioning the AC does not work and each time i would get a response of "let me speak to my manager" and no one ever comes back to me. to say i am frustrated is an understatement. At some point, i was told the issue would be looked into during the car service which was then due soon. nonetheless, during car service, the guys only looked at what the problem was and NEVER attemped to solve the problem. instead i was told i would need to pay for it....to my shock. WHY WOULD I FIX A BRAND NEW CAR at my OWN cost for something that has never worked? NEVER WORKED. In addition, i requested during service that they check how the damage came about but this was never checked. instead, an ASSUMPTION was made that MAYBE i damaged the car? if i could do INTERNAL AC damage in a car within a week when the issue was first reported then CLEARLY Nissan is NOT a car anyone should be driving. Despite my numerous complaints, the issue remains pending and the more they have delayed with their feedback, the message i get now seems to be BLAIMING ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!! for not reporting (though i did a million times) and they want me to pay for it.

If need be, i will go to the highest court, consumer protection and tell everyone with in ear to listen to NEVER do business with Nissan and Renault. My first car was a Renault and it was not any better, not Nissan messing me up too.

I need someone to get my AC fixed at NO cost. You can look into the records, the vehicle and you will see the issue was reported and i will NOT pay for something that NEVER worked.

Hi Nissan

I am YET to receive the response to this. Surely you dont intend to make me run around for yet another year before you fix your mess? what kind of customer service is this?

Update: Unarine in question contracted me again and said she will investigate why there was no inspection done on my car prior to the dealer refusing to assist me (I have recording of this telephone conversation). Then she said the query will be sent through to some committee that will decide an outcome. a few days later, the Midrand dealer people called me acting all funny suddenly trying to assist me and further acknowledging that they knew of the issue (also have this telephone audio recording).
Again, a few days go and response from Unarine in terms of the outcome. I followed up with her only for her to then claim that there was an inspection and that the cause of the problem with the aircon was this list
" clearly explains that damages or failure resulting from stone chipping, chemical fall out (acid Rain), tree sap, salt, hail, wind or sandstorm. Lightning, floods or other environmental conditions. ".

How MANY things caused the damage? if any proper inspection was done, I'm sure an expert would be able to tell a difference between damage caused by a stone and lightning??????. In addition, she referred to an attachment as evidence of such an inspection but no attachment was in the email.

I will not be letting this slide hence I have started recording all conversations with the NISSAN team as i continue to compile the evidence for the Ombudsman if I'm pushed to that level. Please can I have the inspection report as claimed by Unarine ASAP WITH THE EXACT cause of the damage, not the laundry list of assumptions that was listed in the email. The EXACT cause as determined by your expert.

You will NOT sell me a faulty car, pretend that you didn't know, then suddenly claim you know, then make assumptions of what the cause was without doing an inspection and think I will let that go. The car is worth half a million, a complete waste of my money for such poor service.

Thanks
Bridget.
