Dishonesty and **************,Poor service delivery

I had an extremely bad experience with Nissan South Africa. I bought my NP 200 at Autopedigree in Pretoria North, when I bought a car I also took the service plan and the car was new,but the problems of this car makes me to suspect that maybe it wasn't new.

I dove the car for 11months without problems in November 2019 it was due for 30 000 km.It was serviced at Nissan Secunda and after two weeks I had a breakdown in the middle of the road. The car was able to start but the rav count didn't go up then it would die after starting. I called Nissan Secunda and they came and towed the car.

I asked for the courtesy car at the branch in Secunda and I was told that they don't give courtesy car I need to call Nissan South Africa and they gave me the contact details for Nissan South Africa. I tried calling Nissan South Africa but their landline was not going through. That means all my plans for December were shuttered down because I couldn't go anywhere. They kept the car for almost a week, then I collected the car, and I asked what was the problem with the car and they said it had a factory fault the airflow sensor died so they have put a new one. I drove the car for three months then it was the pandemic and we were under lockdown and our movements was restricted so I was hardly driving the car for months. When they started lifting up the lockdown at level 3 I started using the car and started experiencing problems with the gearbox.I wrote an email to MFC (the bank that financed the car) and they referred the matter to Autopedigree where I bought the car,I received a call from Peter the salesperson with a bad attitude and asked me what was wrong with the car in December, before I finished my explanation he then said the problem that I am complaining about it has nothing to do with the problem of December I must just take the car to Nissan again. I booked the car and I was under the impression that they were working on the car the day it was booked.I collected the car after they have done and I was told verbally that they have checked leaks on the gearbox and they couldn't find any leaks the only thing they found was the low oil level on the gearbox. The car was fine as they said they have topped it up with oil,I drove it for few weeks and the same problem started. I called Nissan Secunda to book it again and I was under the impression that they worked on the car, when I collected the car they told me the same story that the oil was low and they have topped it up with oil.I asked them that it means that every month I must come and top up the oil,is it how it supposed to be and their response was no.I was trying to highlight that the car has a problem of low oil and they enjoy to top up and they don't find the root cause. They asked me to drive it again and should it give me any problems again I must come back. I drove the car and it was like a brand new car and there was a big difference and I was confident that the gearbox it is in good conditions again. I was going for a vacation and I drove plus/minus 1000 km. Before I could come back the car started with problems in my vacation, I called Nissan while I was on vacation to book it again as usual. I complained to Nissan South Africa, then the manager in Secunda started changing their story about the oil level, he says they had never said that the level was low, they are denying but the car was booked and when I collected it after they told me that they have topped up the oil,it drives like a brand new car. Because I have escalated the matter they dispute what they said about the oil.The Nissan South Africa said even now I don't qualify for courtesy car,the gearbox must be st********** and sent to their specialist, their specialist has to check inside what is the problem first,if it's my problem then I have to pay for all the cost.If its manufacturers fault, still I won't qualify for courtesy car,it will depend whether the parts are available or not for me to qualify for the courtesy car.I told the lady from Nissan South Africa about the whole story when the car started troubling me,but she doesn't want to look at that matter that they have worked on the engine in December. I am owing a bank over R200 000 and I don't have a car, because of the bad treatment I have received at Nissan,.As we speak I am in need of a car because of the job that I am doing but Nissan doesn't care.

Honestly I wouldn't wish anyone to go through this,Nissan is the worst dealership you can go to and buy a brand new car because should it give you problems they won't assist new I am talking from experience. They are dishonest, the car was filled with oil and now they are denying. I needed transport after dropping off the car in Secunda Nissan recently and they told me they don't deliver. I stayed after they told me that they don't deliver,I was stranded and after 3hrs the manager asked the driver to take me home. In the afternoon the driver came to collect me in Kinross and the driver collected another white lady in Secunda, and I realized that the white lady was also given transport but in my case I was told that there is no transport.

Dear Tryphina M, its important to note that Auto Pedigree is not a NISSAN DEALERSHIP. All new vehicle sales are done through our franchised Dealer network. In terms of your current concern on the gearbox and your request for a courtesy car, please be advised that one will be arranged for the duration of the repair provided it is confirmed to be warrantable. Kind regards Nissan SA
