Complete steering failure
Help?
I've had my QQ since April 2010. Bought it as a demo model directly from the Nissan factory in Rosslyn, South Africa, and it had 18000km's on the clock.
Currently on 76000kms. Which means, no extreme driving in the past 5 years.
My issue is that I've had a huge knock from the beginning whenever I turned the steering.
Every time the car went in for a service at Nissan Global (South Africa), I lodged the same complaint, however got the same feedback every time: nothing wrong with the car. Front suspension was fine, shocks were fine.
On Friday 06 February 2015, I was driving home with my daughter-thank goodness, not faster than 60, because I experienced the car as a bit loose on the road-and when I took a left turn, I was drifting around the corner, no steering. I pulled over, waited for help.
According to the automotive company, the whole steering column, shaft nuts broke off-they're not keen on fixing this, as it is a safety issue. Also told me I am lucky, because I could've been hurt very badly, even dead. I want to know is Nissan going to fix this? And will it be for their bill? This is definitely not normal wear and tear. Especially since I made a fuss about it since day 1.
