Careful buying from Nissan SA, advise I wish I had known before I did.

Things you should know when buying a new car from Nissan: 1. Do not expect anyone to help you. If your new car breaks, you have to phone Nissan and arrange a loan vehicle yourself. If you can get past their convoluted process of establishing blame between themselves and the dealer, and who has to pay for your loan vehicle.

2. Parts are really scarce. I have to have a flywheel replaced on an NP200. Somehow, mysteriously, although they are assembled locally at Roslyn, there are no parts available for Brand New cars. I have waited 2 weeks for them to order the flywheel(Still waiting), and had to wait for them to fabricate the tonneux cover as well. (Took 2 weeks again.)

3. Good luck cancelling a contract with them if your new car is FOA. (Faulty on arrival) Or even getting a replacement. They have the right to repair any fault as long as it's covered by warranty. And they can take as long as they want.

4. Logging a complaint with Nissan SA is as useful as a chocolate teapot. All you get is a grumpy call center agent phoning you once in a while, and asking about progress, saying he will follow up with the dealer. It does not seem to help as my car has been with the dealer for a month and a half now. The dealer principal has Veto, and Nissan SA cannot change his mind if the world ended.
