Bad service
I would gladly give a 0 start rating if it was possible but unfortunately for me it’s not. I bought a preowned Nissan Xtrail in November 2019, on the 25th December 2020 I had a clutch failure and because of the incident that led to that I was okay with repairing/ replacing the clutch kit and paying R22k for it that was done on the 30th December 2020. This was done at Nissan Mthatha branch. FF to 20 March 2021 I have the same problem with the clutch but this time I am told my splines have worn out, splines that are 2months old bear in mind.....
I went to the same branch and it turned out they will need to replace the same clutch kit for the same amount (R22k). I had a back and forth argument with the dealer principal asking him the possibility of my splines being worn out 2 months later compared to when they first replaced my clutch and my splines were still very new and okay. How does it happen that I drive a car for more than a year and have my splines clean n not damaged - only to have them replace the clutch kit with “genuine parts) and the splines have worn out. All he could say was that it’s my driving and I have driven this car all along no one else. When he saw where I was going with my argument he then arrogantly says “why not just buy an automatic car then” and that was NOT what I wanted or needed at that moment.
This was reported with customer care and everytime I follow up they promise to call me back with feedback.
I have been waiting for all this to be resolved but all I am getting is back and forth answers from the customer care unit and unanswered calls from Nissan Mthatha - when they answer all I get is arrogance and rudeness.
This has been an emotional strain for me and would advise someone to check and check all their options before they go to Nissan Mthatha or even Nissan at all.
A special thanks to Sibongile a customer service agent that keeps calling and updating on how they are still awaiting the report from Nissan Mthatha which was finally sent on Thursday the 22nd April.
It’s funny how it only took them (Nissan Mthatha) a few minutes of the day to tell me what I needed to replace on my car and how much it will cost and now that I have questioned their findings shared with me they are busy with investigations and coming up with all sorts of stories.
The report mentions my flywheel being the course of all this, the same flywheel they had replaced with a “new and genuine” one in Jan 21 and I paid R9739.96 for is the same reason my car has a problem now.
I have honestly lost all hope and trust that I had in the dealership. Looks like if they get this fixed I will have more problems in the future resulting from jobs done by them.
