An OTP apparently no longer secures a sale...

I was in quite urgent need of replacing my last car which was written off, as my father is assisting me while he is in South Africa, and returns to the Middle East shortly. I spent time going through to all the dealerships in my area looking at what used vehicles they had available. When I went through to Nissan I found a great deal on a Nissan Tiida, took the car for a test drive, and signed the OTP. Having a Nissan was perfect due to the fact that my brother owns a Nissan NP200 so it meant servicing our cars under one roof. Finance wise my dad wanted to finance it so we took the details to ABSA as his personal banker could help with the best way forward, we managed to get everything together on the finance three days later at which point we phoned the sales rep back only to find out that they had sold the car from under our noses, and his excuse was that the OTP only holds the car for three days. Now I already have the application in for the finance, and am not sure if I can find the same deal as that, as well as the fact that I have to start from the beginning to search for cars and my father now only has a week left here in South Africa.
