An angry Nissan customer that feels uncared for and unheard by the NissanSA customer care
I November 2014 I saw the new spacious Xtrail and went to Motordeal and within a few days I was driving out with my new Xtrail. Little did I know that a little over a year and 23000 km later I wold be fighting for my rights as a customer. Just for further definition of a customer, in the last 4 years I have purchased a Micra, Xtrail and Almera all from Motordeal where the service was excellent. I am now doubting that Nissan is what I thought it was. The Xtrail has been giving problems from day 5 of purchase. There has been a smell of burning with subsequent loss of power but each time I took it to the dealership, I was told that all was okay. I have been driving for over 30 yrs and can discern when something is not okay but when the workshop says that there is nothing wrong then I cannot argue as I am not a mechanic. On 25 April 2016 my Xtrail had to be towed to the dealership workshop because it had completely no power. The clutch was removed and I was told that it was burnt out. The workshop lodged a claim because of the history of the car but Nissan SA rejected the claim as driver abuse. This is laughable as I am the only driver with 30yrs driving history. I was then told that the parts were not available in SA and on back order and expected near the end of May. When I asked about a courtesy car as I am now without transport from the 25 April, I was told that it is not the responsibility of Nissan SA. Who is responsible for the availability of parts? The customer or Nissan? What has happened to some goodwill when dealing with returning customers who have been confident in the Nissan brand? Nissan SA is unhelpful, have a bad attitude towards their customers and is a company without heart. I would advise that all considering buying a Nissan to consider what level of customer care you deserve before signing on the bottom line.
