Letter of Demand on a cell phone contract I no longer have and never in arrears.
2/3 years ago I had a 24 months contract with Altech Auto Page before they closed down. When they closed their doors they transferred my contract over directly to Vodacom. I received an email and SMS from Vodacom with regards the transfer of my contract from AutoPage to Vodacom. Vodacom informed me that the contract I had with AutoPage will remain the same with all the benefits until my contract expires (I still had another 8 to 10 months left on my contract at that time) and my monthly subscription now had to be paid to Vodacom. They took my banking details since I was paying by debit order. Monies has been coming off my account every month ever since. Now I’m receiving emails and sms’s to settle a debt with AutoPage. Having made contact with Nimble to find out what is this money that I was owning to AutoPage. They rep**** that it was for the handset. I rep**** back to say how can it be because the contract and the monthly subscription that I was paying includes the handset. (As is with all cell phone contracts.) I then asked them to email me an invoice from AutoPage directly and for what reason I’m owning them this money. I’m still waiting for this request. Why for the past 2/3 years I never gotten any statements, letters, sms’s, emails or letters of demand from Altech Auto Page that, I still owe them money. I also paid my account with AutoPage via debit order. According to my records I have never missed a debit order payment with AutoPage. Now I’m getting messages and calls from the Nimble Group saying that I need to pay up or my good credit record will be tarnished. I keep telling them that my account was always up to date with AutoPage and I have always been paying my account by debit order and I need proof directly from AutoPage that I own then this money which Nimble has fail to provide. I have also made contact with Vodacom asking them if I was in arrears when my contract was transferred from AutoPage. They said NO. If I was in arrears I would have had to settle my account with AutoPage before Vodacom would accept the transfer of my contract. I would like to request someone in senior management from the Nimble Group to look into this since I’m am not the only ex – AutoPage client complaining about this harassment from their company.
