Flashback 1930's New York mafia shakedown!
Even after a promise to pay the full arrears value by the 20th, the mafia goon for ABSA (Nimble's Noleen Colleens) threatened consequences if I do not put a deposit down on the arrears value within 48 hours.
Pressing for more details pertaining to the consequence threat, Noleen transferred me to her line manager. Disappointingly I was told there are no consequence and the promise to pay logged will render the account back into circulation - shattering my mafia vision of Nimble employees at my work with baseball bats and ABSA breaking my kneecaps for failing the 48 hours threat.
All jokes aside...
What is the code of conduct pertaining to debt collections for ABSA and whatever happened to responsible lending? If my excuse of losing a father in law and helping my mother in law stay afloat while processing her estate is not good enough for my defaulting loan, what is an acceptable excuse. Clearly, there's no sympathy from your Nimble goons, who still proceeded with idle threats after my reasons explained!!
If I was in real dire straits, to the point of depression - how do you not know that perhaps the final push over the edge was not Noleen and her empty 48 hours threat.
Since ABSA left the Barclays group, the level of service is in sharp decline. Why on earth will ABSA employ a group like Nimble to manager their collections?
PS. Is Nimble not a UK payday loan shark, who tried their own luck in SA? I feel like I've seen this group before. Did ABSA finally go to the dark side? (and I will check my credit record to ensure there's not punitive measures for my complaint from Nimble goons - which is in essence today's baseball bat to the kneecaps!).
