Bad debt due to lost documents

I was handed over from Capitec to Nimble Collection Services for over R47000.00 personal loan in 2016 early 2017 not long after I took the loan i was let go at the company i was working at i took all the original relevant documents to Capitec so that they can start the process to get insurance to cover the repayments till i could find employment they said it covers for 3 to 6 months month 3 came along and they said that i need to pay my loan as im behind on my repayments, when i went into the branch i was told that they have no record that i did any application for cover on the loan and its unsecured personal loan at this time I asked to speak to the branch manager only to find out that she no longer worked there, now im sitting with all this debit on my name and i can not even rent a place without being rejected or getting a place at higher rental rates.
