*********** *******s

I took a PayDay loan with them some time in 2016. I did not pay them for months after that as I was having some financial difficulties. When I contacted them to update my banking details, they said they had them, but were never updated and they never debited.

In October 2017, I contacted GetBucks to arrange a payment plan. I was advised that the balance of my account was R4147.58. I arranged to pay it in 2 installments. Half (R2073.79) on the 25th of October 2017 and the other half on the 25th of November 2017. The first half was debited of the 25th October 2017, then on the 25th November 2017 only R613.70 was debited and another R613.70 was debited later that day.

On the 15th of December 2017 another R613.70 was debited. I was then contacted on the 20th December 2017 by Alliance, GetBucks’ debt collector. I was told that I had been handed over and owe GetBucks R4147.58. I informed the agent that this was the initial amount and I had arranged a payment plan, I informed him of the debits but he informed that there is no record of this and GetBucks should not be in contact with me as they have handed me over.

I then went online chat with GetBucks to get some answers, I was then told to contact Alliance, I told them that Alliance has no record of the debits made by them. I was ignored as usual until I lost connection. A GetBucks agent then emailed me a statement stating that I now owe GetBucks R1718.56. Also an the statement was an interest fee of R1368.70. This fee was added on the R25th Of October 2017, the same day my bank account had been debited R2073.79. I understand that there should be a fee as I am in arrears, however, charging a fee on the day that payment is due is not a true reflection of what should be charged. They should first deduct the R R2073.79, then charge the interest based on what is left.

According to my knowledge and from what Andries, the Alliance agent told me, I can’t be charged interest if my account has been handed over. I then sent Alliance the statement I had received from Getbucks, Stephanie rep**** and stated that there is an error and she would speak to GetBucks and get back to me. She responded and said that I should pay what is on the GetBucks statement. On Friday, 5th January 2018, I received another call from Alliance stating that I owe R4147.58 and once again, no record of the debits. She then requested that I send my bank statement. In my email with Stephanie from Alliance, I stated that since the amount due was R4147.58, if you deducts GetBucks’ debits I should be left with R232.69 on my account and requested confirmation, but still told to pay the R1368.70 that GetBucks says sis still due.

I am tired of their incompetence as both them and debt collector are handling my account and there is no communication from GetBucks with Alliance. How am I ever going to finish paying the account if the amount keeps changing and I’m being charged interest on the day payment is made.
