Restaurant staff allowing a man to walk into the restaurant with his pet dog

On the 19th of September 2017 at approximately 20:30pm, my boyfriend and I were shocked to see a man walking into News Cafe, The Zone, In Rosebank, with a pet dog while we were dining. We were appalled by the way the restaurant staff handled the situation as nothing was done about it even though there was a seating area outside where the owner and his dog could be served. When we spoke to the restaurant manager, he did not show any signs of remorse. He simply stated that had he been at the door, the man would not have entered with the dog. I would think that the waiters should know that any pets should not be allowed into a restaurant as it poses many issues about hygiene. We found this to be highly unacceptable therefore will never visit this restaurant again.
