Maponya mall News Cafe
I have been to the Maponya Mall News Cafe. Like the good experience I have had at Rosebank News Cafe, I expected to get the same experience at Maponya mall News Cafe. Unfortunately, that was not the case. I waited for almost 30 minutes for a waiter to take my order. When she had arrived, she was clueless about the menu and was not even taking our order down. She kept running back and forth to ask her fellow colleagues and come back to us. It was very irritating because if she was new to the job, she was supposed to be shadowed by someone experienced. As if that was the end, we had a total of 3 waiters serving our table after being left hanging by the first waitress who was clueless. The waitresses or waiters do not wear uniform nor do they wear name tags. To distinguish the staff from the crowd, you will have to watch out for anyone with a food tray on their hands.
I ordered chips and buffalo wings as a starter. The wings and chips were terrible because they were half done. I had ordered a feast meal for a group of academics at Rosebank News Cafe on the 24th of April 2021 with exactly this meal, I had no complaints at all. The meal was very good, the academics loved it. I am not against Maponya mall News Cafe, but I was rather disappointed at their services on Saturday because I have repeatedly experienced excellent service from Rosebank News Cafe. I believe they can do better hence I rated their service as average. Maponya mall News Cafe is closer to where I stay while Rosebank News Cafe is closer to work, so I would really like for them to improve so that I can always get the great taste of News Cafe wherever I am.
