Double gratuity on the bill
On 21/03/2016, we went to NewsCafe Midrand (SanRidge). Upon receiving the bill, the bill already reflects a 10% gratuity charge This infact is on par with the small print they have on their menus; and I have no problem with this move. BUT, the invoice still has the field where one normally enters the 10% gratuity. This to me is immoral as either/or should be in the bill. Most people will not even look at their bills to see the 10% that is already included but will proceed to offer yet another gratuity. This not only tricks patrons into paying double gratuity but it is *******. On top of this, our bill reflected some area where the printing had been deleted by use of a pen, that also is not legal. The included gratuity was R189 and the one we added was R205. <br> What happened to clean business dealings. What happened to the integrity of the brand News Cafe?<br> Please advise on the next steps for this as I intend on escalating to the consumer affairs should I find no joy. They should either stick to having the normal gratuity field for the patron to add for themselves OR include it in the bill as per their fine print and NOT both.
