Won't stop debiting my account!

I moved to Australia in Dec 2016 on a two year work contract. I sold both my vehicles (both have trackers with Netstar) in December 2016.

I contacted them in Oct 2016 already asking them to discontinue my account at the end of Dec. I was assured, telephonically, that this would be done.

Then they charged me in January 2017.

then I e-mailed them again asking them to stop the account.

Then they charged me in February 2017.

Then I phoned their call centre (do you know what international calls cost?!), and the service operator assured me that they would close my account. I have the call ref #.

Then they charged me in March 2017. This time, I was charged a non-payment penalty by my bank, because (being overseas and having to shift funds around) I had ensured that there were enough funds in my account to cover all my debits, resting assured that Netstart would finally, as their own consultants had assured me, not be debiting my account.Lo and behold, they did, and another (legitimate) service provider did not get paid, and I got penalised by the bank for not having enough funds in my bank account.

This is shocking, almost ******** neglect. What do I have to do to get my funds (and penalties!) reimbursed, and to get them to finally stop debiting my account!!?

Happy to report that Altech Netstar has refunded the amounts incorrectly debited, and also has successfully stopped the debit order.

Eventually!

Thank you to all those at Altech who took the time to respond and sort this out.
