Reimbur*****t of bank charges due to unauthorised debit orders

A few months ago, my mother noticed that her savings account had a debit order from netstar going through for a few months prior to her findings. My mother whom is unemployed, has no source of income and no dealings whatsoever with netstar had to face the burden of paying off the debt on her account. Due to insufficient funds in the account, the debit order was bounced every month from the first debit order. The bank had charged my mother a fee for all those debit orders. Once she paid off the debt on that account, she permanently closed the account.

She got into contact with Jessica Modise from netstar to assist her with netstar reimbursing her with the bank charges that was never my mothers to pay.

As I have mentioned, my mother is unemployed with no source of income and no bank account, Jessica asked for banking details, which was provided via email. Now Jessica asked for a bank statement for audit purposes.

I would like to know the following from Netstar. The debit order which was running of my mother's account is possibly for one of your clients. Did you ask this client for a bank statement during application process? If yes, was security checks done with the account holder on the bank statement/bank confirmation letter with the ID of the applicant or was this just a quick deal to get commission regardless of what information was supp****. Lastly if this debit order was not for one of your clients, is someone at netstar trying to rob innocent people by supplying and capturing wrong information.

Whatever the case is I'm not here to falsely accuse netstar or their employees or associated entities of anything. Again, my mothers bank account was closed and I'm just trying to understand why would you need a bank statement from me when I already gave you banking details. I really do not feel safe giving netstar my bank statement incase unauthorised debit orders go through, but I do strongly believe that my mother has to be reimbursed as the money that was used to pay off the debt was borrowed.

Thank you.
