⚠️ Netstar Holding My Vehicle Hostage – Unfair & ******* Practices

Netstar (Pty) Ltd is harassing me and abusing my consumer rights under the Consumer Protection Act (CPA).

My contract with them ended long ago. We could not agree on new terms because their service is exploitative — they could not commit to reimbursing me if my car was ****** and not recovered. I refused renewal.

I asked them to remove their device from my vehicle, but they demanded I pay +- R200 just for the removal — something never in my original contract. When I asked them for proof that they have such a right, they failed to provide it. Instead, they continued to deduct from my account as if we still have a contract with them. I closed their access to my account and reversed my monies they deducted, which amounted to R458.

Instead, they ignored my emails (latest sent 10 March 2025) and calls, and now send me threats via lawyers to force me to pay R458. This is pure coercion and harassment, prohibited by CPA s40.

Because they won’t remove their device, my vehicle remains unprotected — I can’t install a new provider’s system until Netstar removes theirs. This is effectively holding my property hostage, violating CPA s14 (contract cancellation rights), s48 (unfair terms), and s54 (right to safe, quality service).

Netstar’s business conduct is ********, unprofessional, and dangerous to consumers.

⚠️ Warning to other consumers: Avoid Netstar — they trap customers, bully them with legal threats, and leave your vehicle at risk.

I have escalating this to the NCC and OSTI.
