Netstar broke my car radio plus I'm paying for a unit I don't have installed my car
I recently had my contract renewed in April via telephone call from a customer agent who didn't explain to me that the contract was a fixed 36 months. An Indian guy came to my home to set up the tracking unit as according to Netstar my tracker was outdated. This guy was from the Pinetown Ikhaya Netstar branch. He fitted the new device in the car the Thursday afternoon by Friday morning I could smell burning wires from outside but never thought that it would be my car. On Saturday I need to go shopping to jump into my car and find that the car radio was broken, there was nothing showing on the screen and it didn't want to switch off or turn the volume down.
When I called Netstar on Monday, I was advised by an Indian lady that an African male will come take a look at the matter. I called and begged all week for them to address what they caused to eventually be assisted the next Friday. The African male advised the Indian guy (apologies as I did not take names) had pulled out my car radio then forced it back in when he realised it's a factory fitted radio and the cords to the radio where damaged in the process. They managed to get the words showing which didn't last very long until the car radio started to give problems again.
It became unbearable to drive the car with the radio issues as I travel with my kids and focus is so important now I had this screaming radio ontop of it all. Due to the frustrating circumstances and not being able to connect my phone to the Bluetooth hands-free calling anymore I had no choice but to sell my car which I kept in perfect standing for so many years as a Netstar client. To now be forced to sell because of the company that suppose to be assisting me.
I managed to sell my car fast as I said it was in such good condition just the damage caused by Netstar to the radio was the problem. I notified Netstar of the problem on numerous occasions and requested for the de installation and re installation of the unit ... after everything I was still told about a R655 fee which I will have to cover even though Netstar damaged my car.
Because of safety I still requested the unit to be removed from my old car and a new one put into my new car since 27th May after numerous calls I'm still tracking a car I don't own, I'm still being deducted monthly and yet my new car has no tracking device. I had to incur so much costs already because of the damage done by Netstar to my car that I was forced to sell and now I'm still being treated unfairly and not given a tracking unit yet paying for it.
I honestly want the whole deal cancelled off as from then onset of the renewal I was misled by the agent into thinking its a month to month when it's actually a fixed term of 36 months and now I don't even have a tracking system
