Incorrect Debt collection message
<p>I received an SMS informing me that my account has been handed over for legal collection because of unpaid debit order. I don't have any unpaid debit orders. My account is up to date.</p> <p> </p> <p>The account I had on the Ford bantam was cancelled when I cancelled the insurance. The other account I had on the mazda was also cancelled when I cancelled the vehicle insurance. The lady who helped me open an account for the polo vivo confirmed that the mazda account was closed, otherwise I would have had that tracking device moved to the polo vivo account.</p> <p> </p> <p>WHAT IS THIS ABOUT? </p>

I explained to her that my standard bank account was closed about 3 years ago and she struggled to understand that, and said the bank responses for the debit order was 'insufficient funds' on the account. She also said she can't send me proof of these 'insufficient fund', if that's the case I want to take it up with the bank but can't do so until I have proof of what she's claiming. I don't understand why you've been trying to collect from a closed account, surely the bank should have informed you about the account closure when you were trying to collect from this account, and then called me before handing my account over to debt collection.
