How to get Netstar to stop taking your money after cancellation

I sold my car in 2019 and requested for my tracker to be cancelled. The balance of my 36 month contract was paid off swiftly and Netstar GO was also cancelled. Amazingly, the next month the debit order still went off!? and the next one, and the next...for more than a year! I called many times for it to be cancelled, and I even got telephonic confirmation of it being cancelled for the second time. What is astonishing, is that after this confirmation, any subsequent call would be led by an agent trying desperately to keep me on the service for a few months extra. they'd spend 10 min each time explaining to me the benefits of staying on, I'd agree to listen (they are a persistent bunch!) and then request for it to be cancelled, at which point my line would be diverted and I'd listen to ****py music while on hold until the call just gets cut.

Anyway this is a success story where I got "quick" action. It turns out that by forcibly stopping debit orders at the bank (which can be done online or via the app of most banks), some no-nonsense person will call you up and find out what's going on. Yes, you'll be asked to pay for the deficit, and it is up to you to fight. Or, because this person get the job done (i.e. getting money from you), you could ask for a formal cancellation and then only when this is done, pay the balance.

To anyone who insists on using Netstar - do it only if you want a lifetime commitment, or you will be unhappy!
