Happy to take but, not to assist

When I insured a previous vehicle in 2014, it was part of the insurance policy to have a tracking unit installed through Altech Netstar. Due to the shocking service of the insurance company, I then cancelled the policy in November 2014. I was then notified that I was now tied into a 3 year contract with Altech at my own cost. As to avoid marks against me on ITC etc, I had no option than to continue paying for the tracking unit which I am still doing.

I then sold this vehicle in November 2014, along with it went the tracking device. I have never been a fan of tracking units and to be blunt - don't want one. That was the last time I had a tracking unit in my vehicle (November 2014). That being said, I have been paying for Altech Netstar tracking services since then without making use of the unit / service (over R2000.00)

I am not asking for my money back however, I now want to cancel this contract, saving me money on a monthly basis, and am being told I can only do so if I pay a cancellation fee of R1000+.

How do you justify this when you have taken so much money from me over the past few months for nothing.

Again, 'great service' from another South African service provider!
