Disappointing Experience with Netstar: Unreliable Tracking and Ineffective Panic Button

I recently signed up with Netstar for their vehicle tracking services, drawn by their reputation and the promise of peace of mind knowing my vehicle's whereabouts. The initial registration process was impressively simple and fast, setting a positive tone for what I expected to be a seamless experience. However, the ease of registration soon gave way to a series of frustrating encounters.

My first hurdle was with the scheduling for the device's fitment. Contrary to my expectations of an automated scheduling process, I found myself having to call in to arrange for the fitment, which, to their credit, was promptly scheduled for the following day.

The fitment itself was completed without issue by the technician, but this is where the smooth sailing ended. Excited to test out the capabilities of their tracking mobile app and website, I was met with immediate disappointment. Neither platform was operational, leaving me completely in the dark about my vehicle's location. This was particularly concerning as it happened over a weekend, a time when I, like many others, had plans that required knowing my vehicle's status and location.

Seeking resolution, I contacted their call center, hoping for a quick fix. The customer service operator was calm and attempted to assist by checking my vehicle's location, only to report an incorrect address. Further adding to my dismay, I was informed that the tracking system's accuracy was merely approximate and not as precise as the system used by their recovery team. This revelation was shocking, especially since I had subscribed to their Early Warning Plan, which is marketed as the best and most expensive option available.

My patience waned as I struggled to comprehend how an expensive tracking plan could yield such approximate results. The operator's response to my inquiries was less than reassuring, with promises to escalate the issue to their technical team for both the non-functional app and website and the inaccurate vehicle location.

Adding insult to injury, I tested the "Panic Button" feature during a family outing, expecting an immediate response from Netstar. Shockingly, despite numerous presses throughout the day across various locations, there was no response whatsoever.

As I await Monday to express my grievances and seek answers, my trust in Netstar's ability to provide a reliable vehicle tracking service is severely shaken. In an era where vehicle tracking is not just for peace of mind but a necessity for safety and insurance purposes, the lack of functionality, accuracy, and responsive emergency services from Netstar leaves me questioning the reliability of their service.
