Bad Netstar service
Well an interesting bad service. interesting because I never would have thought my experience could ever happen to anyone. Let alone contemplating what would have happened in the event I needed Netstar services. Well, I bought a Land Rover in August this year from Land Rover Bedfordview (Range Rover SDV8). The car comes fitted I was told, with Netstar. I was advised by Land Rover Bedford to activate Netstar which I did in August and spoke to a lady called Mvuyiswa Phumudi. After the sales pitch, she moved to call for my banking details which I provided her. I was also advised to download safe and sound app which never worked (it never was able to tell me where my car is on demand). I did follow up with Netstar raising this and was advised it should work and I needed to allow it time post activation. Mvuyiswa confirmed my services (tracking capability of my vehicle) were activated. Proof for me that the services are activated being the trail in my Nedbank account of Netstar debits of R171.01 since the first August and the last one have gone through my Nedbank account on the 1st of October. So far, three debit orders have been honoured in favour of Netstar of my account. I got prompted by a recent hijacking of my friend's Mercedes Benz incident to check today if my tracking devise can tell me where my Land Rover is at the time of my call today. This done to test if my Netstar is active everytime and reliably so. To my horror, I was told by a service consultant by the name John Motine of Netstar that my Netstar service has not been activated at all and never was..... That left me shattered considering that I pay Netstar for one and only one reason and that is for them to be able to track and recover my car in need........ Well, my disappointment having discovered this is inexpressible to say the least. Now as a result of this, and taking into account TCF and CPA laws protecting consumers from bad and unfair services, I request Hello Peter to help me secure a full refund of the premiums paid over the last 3 months and attributable interest I would have earned on that balance. I am also considering switching over to tracker as well given the horror and shock experienced discovering what could have happened in an event of a hijack. I have always responded proudly when asked by my colleagues whether my car had a tracking devise or not. I now realise it was all empty pride and would have cost me dearly had I experienced a hijack. Needless to say that a Range Rover is a huge target for car jacking and therefore having a tracking device in it is standard requirement if you ask me. Many thanks in advance for your assistance....
