A Warning About Netstar – Use at Your Own Risk

In July, I was nearly hijacked. When I pressed the Netstar panic button for help, no one called to assist me. Fortunately, I managed to escape unharmed. Afterward, I contacted Netstar to understand why I didn’t receive any assistance despite paying for their service. To my shock, I was told that my panic button wasn’t working.

As a woman in South Africa, where safety is a constant concern, I decided to cancel my subscription and find a company that actually delivers on its promises. It felt like Netstar saw my payments as a donation because I was essentially paying for a service that didn’t exist.

I requested the service to be canceled on August 2nd, yet by November, it still hadn’t been done. After following up multiple times, they finally canceled the service. However, now I am being forced to beg them to remove the tracker from my car and refund the money I had prepaid for three years in advance.

Registering with Netstar is a smooth process, but that’s where the convenience ends. Once you’re a customer, everything becomes chaotic. Their panic buttons fail when you need them the most, leaving you vulnerable to hijacking, harm, or worse. And if you try to cancel, you’ll be sent from pillar to post. To make matters worse, they even charge you to remove their tracker from your vehicle.

I am currently in the process of fighting to get the tracker removed and to receive my refund. To add insult to injury, I’ve just been informed that they need 14 DAYS! to calculate how much to refund me. What kind of service is this?

If you value your safety and your peace of mind, use this company at your own risk.
