Poor Service
NetFlorist "SA's largest same day gifting service" - The slogan by itself is deceptive!
I had placed a birthday order for my husband on the 5th March 2018 for delivery in East London on the 12th March 2018. On the 12th March 2018, just after 11am the gift was tracked and the report confirmed that the gift was delivered. This was very strange as my husband did not call me to confirm receipt of the gift. With this in mind, I called the Netflorist call center to follow up. I was assisted by Melissa Harrod (I think) who advised me that the gift was with their courier service provider in Port Elizabeth and will be delivered by the end of the day. I was certain that the delivery could not take place on the same day as Port Elizabeth is a distance away from East London and it was already mid-day. Melissa advised she will follow up with their central depot in Johannesburg and call me back. Melissa called me back and confirmed that their depot made a mistake with the allocation of the gift but what they would do is send my Husband flowers from a florist in East London and will have the gift that I ordered delivered the next day. Seeing that this was my husband I opted for a chocolate hamper as opposed to the flowers. After lunch still no delivery. I called Netflorist again but could not speak to Melissa as she was busy. The lady that assisted me this time was of no help. She could not confirm if the delivery was sent, she could not confirm which florist was used, she could not give me any answers. She advised that she will check with Melissa and call me back. The second lady called me back and said that the address supp**** was incorrect and my husband did not work at the place that I referred to. Now already upset, I told the lady that my husband is at work and he does in fact work at the place referred to as there had been deliveries to him before. I had to call my husband and tell him to expect a call from the florist to confirm that he is at work and to expect a delivery.
The delivery was eventually done, however, to my surprise, and after stressing to Melissa from NetFlorist that the gift was for my husband, the florist delivers the chocolates etc in a basket with pink tissue paper and a pink bow.
The correct gift was delivered the day after my husband's birthday which defeated the purpose and the element of surprise.
I cannot even fathom what would have happened if I had trusted the slogan of NetFlorist and left my order to be placed on the same day. I placed my order a week in advance that was messed up. Very disappointed in the service even though NetFlorist did try to make up for their error. My whole intention was to surprise my better half but those efforts were futile due to the lack of competence of NetFlorist. I am sadly not the only person who has experienced this poor service. I have two other colleagues at the office that were faced with the same dilemma. Very disappointed consumer.
