Valentines Day is very big business for companies such as Netflorist. Over this period they secure the services of temporary drivers. A bad economy and high unemployment rate works in their favour as people arrive in droves ... Given that they advertise one may earn R1 500 per day over this period.

The temporary drivers obviously use their own vehicles and fuel in order to deliver on behalf of Netflorist. Not knowing how many drivers participate .. Conservatively let's say 200 drivers spend R800 on petrol in order to meet their commitment.. That's R 160 000 of other peoples money Netflorist uses to deliver flowers and gifts over the busiest period. Conservative guestimate.

Drivers wait for hours for the opportunity and I doubt if any came close to the earning potential promised.

The organisation was so bad ontop of which additional couriers and refridgeration trucks were called in on the day to assist, whilst temporary drivers were made to wait longer for a chance to deliver in the hope of earning an income.

Although the drivers who received consignments to deliver completed the task of delivering gifts and flowers on behalf of Netflorist the week of the 14th February, they were made to wait until the 28th February for payment. Funny thing that, given Netflorist do not have a deliver now, pay later policy when orders are received.

The 28th February came and went and no payment was received. Who knows how long all these people will have to wait for payment. Netflorist had 14 days to process payment, yet system glitches are being blamed for non payment. They claim to have exceptional systems to communicate with the temps via sms, yet not a word ...

How ethical are companies such as Netflorist when they have a total disregard for people and their plights?

Is this the type of company you would wish to support?

Would prefer a 0 rating for the lack of organisation, too many chiefs, the right hand not knowing what the left hand is doing, phones that go unanswered (20 consecutive calls), lack of payment, exploitation of people inpacted by a bad economy.
