Long Distance Romance: Snack basket never made it

My partner lives in the Western Cape, Paleisheuwel to be exact. I live in Pretoria. We regularly make use of NetFlorist to send each other surprise gifts.

Sending thoughtful gifts to the Cape takes quite a bit of logistics from my side - I have to send the package to an aunt in Stellenbosch, who then delivers it to him on the weekend when he pops by for a visit. She stays in Paarl.

This week I ordered a "Snack Attack" and did the usual routine. The order was placed on 6 September and although I know the notes section is merely a suggestion, I made a note that this order needed to be delivered before 2pm on 9 September for pick-up.

Today (9 September) at 1pm my order was still being processed. When I called to see what delay was, I found out the truck was still being packed. Then they saw my note. I was asked to provide an alternative address for my aunt, which I did. I was told NetFlorist doesn't deliver to Paarl and was asked to provide another alternative address for "someone" in Stellenbosch. I said I don't have another person's address to provide, these are the only addresses I have. Then, I was asked if "someone else" could take delivery of the package (?) Lastly, I was asked if I could come fetch the package myself. Obviously living in Pretoria, this is out of the question.

I told the call centre agent that I was disappointed because I had placed the order within enough time for delivery - but again, the inability for its successful delivery was blamed on a vehicle utilisation issue.

I've asked for the payment to be reversed and hope this transaction will indeed be successful.
