Damaged product

If is very nice to be able to order a gift and get it delivered so soon but when my ordered was delivered the item was damaged a bit. The courier said they can return it for me but that obviously will then have to be done the following day seeing it was delivered late in the afternoon. I accepted the parcel like it was but was very disappointed because it is not cheap but I had to make a choice between giving the gift late or taking it with the damage.
