What happened to the values of Netcare?

Netcare is it ethical for a health institution that prides itself of supporting cancer patients to construct a dismissal on its own employee by requesting an incapacity enquiry because she is undergoing Chemo treatment?

First the employee was ******* into signing to momentum insurance. She was made to believe that it's only temporary while she is still undergoing treatment. Then suddenly she was called in for a lack of accountability enquiry.

When the patient fought this, HR then suggested a suspension until she can be able to come back to work but Friday evening, around 19:00 to 19:30 she received a call from HR to inform her that they are continuing with the lack of accountability enquiry.

What we as a family would like to know is, how does an ill person with a terminal illness be called for an lack of accountability enquiry? Is this how employers treat their employees ? Is this the fate of all cancer patients or is this personal?

Our sister is a victim in all of this. She did not ask to be diagnosed with breast cancer. She has 3 months left till she finishes her treatment but we as a family are worried she will lapse because of this stress. She is worried she will lose her job for being sick.

She has been with Netcare 4/5 years. She is a good employee, some may even say she is one of the best. She has not received any support from her employer instead they are constructing her dismissal.

She is a mother of two, over 40 who is being punished for something she has no control over.
